Hello! July has been a month of progress and it’s only now nearing its end. I attribute a lot of my progress to the fact that I’ve also started going to therapy and the mental health help that I have gotten, but THAT is not what I am going into today.
My iPhone screen time last week was down 90% to a daily average of 14 minutes and a weekly total of 1 hour and 30 minutes. GRANTED, I have increased my laptop use time, but it is also going down. It is hard to completely track my laptop use time because it counts time that it also sits idle. For today, I have used my computer for about an hour.
My mental focus has continued to increase, but I am also much more of a single-tasker than I have ever been before. Music distracts me just like it used to when I was in my late teens. Again, I partially attribute this to being on mental health meds, but I have been finding myself enjoying each task much more fully now. I am thinking sharply and clearly for the first time in YEARS. A little more than a decade.
If I can recommend anything to you to help you begin to build your confidence and your contentment with yourself, it would first be to lower your screen time on your smartphone and delete your social media apps.
Second, if you can access the resources, I HIGHLY recommend therapy. I always thought it would help, but I did not know just how much it would help; it helps A LOT.
