What is something others do that sparks your admiration?

“What is something others do that sparks your admiration?”

Honestly, being able to stick to one goal or to have one focus at all times. I am one of those unfortunate individuals who bounces from hobby to hobby, from interest to interest, from subject to subject, all because I get bored shortly after starting and I want to do something new all the time. I circle from being a hobby writer, to being a hobby musician, to a hobby seamstress, and then back again through the circle. One thing that is consistent for me is that I love to learn. But I also wish to reinvent myself at any chance I get. It’s a bit of a curse. I admire others who know who they are, what they like, and what they like to do with their time.

  1. It sounds like you have a vibrant and curious mind! While it can sometimes feel frustrating to constantly shift your focus, your ability to explore different interests is a remarkable strength.
Think of it this way: each new hobby, each new subject you delve into, expands your knowledge and broadens your perspective. You’re constantly learning and growing, developing a unique and multifaceted understanding of the world.
Instead of viewing it as a “curse,” perhaps you can embrace this as a unique way of engaging with the world. You’re a lifelong learner, always seeking new challenges and experiences.
Maybe you can find ways to integrate your diverse interests. For example, could your writing be inspired by your musical experiences, or could your sewing skills be used to create costumes for a theatrical production?
Remember, there’s no single “right” way to live. Embrace your unique personality and find ways to channel your curiosity and desire for novelty into fulfilling and enriching experiences.
I hope this perspective provides some comfort and encouragement.

    1. This is such a kind way to think about it! Thank you so much for sharing your perspective. I think that trying to implement more of this mindset of how I think as a gift and curiosity instead of a curse will help me when my hobby-hopping starts up again. Thank you for the encouragement. I hope that you have a great rest of your week as well!
